MATTHEW Barnes-Homer has become the fifith signing of the summer for Kiddermin-ster Harriers.

The 21-year old striker, who was on trial with the Blue Square Premier club, has agreed terms on a one-year contract at Aggborough.

He follows the acquisitions of striker Justin Richards, defender Paul Bignot, midfielder Andy Ferrell and goalkeeper Dean Coleman in recent weeks.

Barnes-Homer, once with Bromsgrove Rovers, joined Mark Yates' squad at the start of pre-season and impressed in the first two friendlies, including the 2-2 draw against Cheltenham Town on Tues-day.

The player said: "It's always hard to go on trial because you don't know whether you're going to be kept on or not.

"But I think I've impressed the gaffer so far in pre-season and I'm glad to be signing, hopefully I can settle here now."

Barnes-Homer began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers as a 15-year-old and has also had spells with Aldershot and Hednesford Town, and last season with Willenhall Town and League Two side Wycombe Wander-ers.

The striker, who will wear the number 21 shirt next season, has also spent two spells in America playing for Syracuse and Virginia Beach Mariners.
