WORCESTER Hockey Club men's eighths made an early new year return to Warwick Printing Midland League action with a rearranged visit to Olton and West Warwick fifths.

The leaders maintained their 100 per cent record with a 5-0 home triumph in Central League South West Division Two.

Worcester were under pressure for the whole game but handled it well.  Three goals were from mistakes at the back but only one direct shot went in.

Junior Lewis Heppner stepped up to the mark on his debut for the team.

Worcester men's firsts are due to resume their Premier Division campaign at local rivals Stourport on Saturday.

The city side are still looking for their first league win of the season while Stourport are fourth from bottom.
