WORCESTERSHIRE Virtue Empire have climbed up to second place in England Dodgeball League Division Two.

They also maintained second position in the Bethany’s Legacy League.

Virtue defeated Milton Keynes Cyclones seconds 14-8 in a fast-paced England league encounter.

Another victory in a battle against Cannock Raptors pushed their opponents down into third place.

In the legacy league, two Virtue teams Redditch Fire and Bewdley Virtue finished second and third respectively.

The club-mates drew 5-5 before Redditch beat Leicester Minotaurs firsts 6-4 and Leicester Minotaurs seconds 6-4.

In the decider for first place, Redditch lost a rematch to Leicester firsts.

Bewdley lost 10-0 to Leicester firsts and 7-3 to Leicester seconds but finished above the latter in the table for their efforts in the previous league meet.

Virtue had two teams in the under 14s division with Bewdley Virtue and Kidderminster Kestrels finishing first and second respectively.

Worcestershire gathered members from Worcester, Droitwich, Kidderminster, Redditch, Bewdley and Stourbridge to host an inter-club tournament and presentation.

Josh Hughes was under 13s player of the year and his brother Jamie claimed the under 16s award.

Alan Wyman won the adult accolade for the second time in a row.

“We had a very successful year of which I could not be prouder,” said Virtue founder Brian Williams.

“This year we look to be promoted to Division One in the England league, develop a ladies' team and push our junior squads to enter more tournaments.
