SECRETARY Rob Crean and board member Jack Hundley are set to resign from their respective roles with Worcester City Supporters’ Trust.

Crean has been the administrative arm of the independent fans’ organisation for more than seven years and hopes to come back “refreshed” following a sabbatical.

Hundley’s decision is understood to be unrelated to Crean’s and rooted in lending as much time as possible to his voluntary post as City's press officer.

Both confirmed their intentions to stay in place until the trust's AGM, scheduled to take place by the end of March.

“I will still be a part of the trust but not as secretary,” said Crean.

“This is something I have been doing for seven or eight years now and I fancy a change. It is a responsible position and can be quite laborious so I will see through this year’s finances and AGM before letting someone else take over.

“I still want to be active within the trust but perhaps not so much on the front line. I have been doing it for a good few years now and it does take a lot of time out of your life.

“This year saw me make a conscious decision to take a step back from football anyway. Being secretary is not something that just spans the football season, it is all year round with Perdiswell in there as well.

“This felt the right time to blow away the cobwebs to hopefully come back refreshed.

“The trust needs to work out which way it is going. With the (Perdiswell) appeal going forward, there is not a lot we can do yet and we cannot do much with Parsonage Way until we get some more information on that.

“It has all gone a bit quiet so it felt like a good time to take a bit of a break.

“It is difficult for anybody to see which way it should go with Parsonage Way being a bit of a grey area. I am still to be convinced that it is viable but we will wait to see.

“I will always be there to support Dave (Wood, chairman) and the trust board if they need anything.

“The most satisfying element of my work over the past few years, alongside some hardworking, dedicated people, is getting the Perdiswell application to where it is and it is not dead yet.”

Hundley, who confirmed he had sent his resignation letter to Wood and Crean on Monday, said: “I am stepping down at the AGM to focus my time and effort on my voluntary role as press officer at the club.

“I will be looking to link the club to its local community through charity events and reaching out to schools to encourage a new generation of support.”
