WORCESTER’S under 18 girls continued their link with Latvian club Jurmala.
The northern Europe side paid a return visit to Worcester for a sevens game after the city girls went to Latvia in 2016.
Good work-rate and solid basic skills produced an emphatic home win but the trip was more about friendship through rugby.
Members of Worcester Rugby Club helped to create a successful visit while James Hervey-Bathurst from Eastnor Castle and Worcester mayor Steve Mackay put on guided tours for the Latvians.
Hosts Worcester, having qualified through the group stages of the National Cup, beat Leigh 77-0 in the quarter-finals.
The try scoring started with a jinking run by Dijana Clarke converted by Charlie Manns.
Leigh made occasional sieges on the Worcester line but could never break through to score.
Multiple attacking options allowed for further Worcester tries from Annabel Maxted, Niamh Massam-Vallely, Maddie Rendell and Flo Thomson to build a commanding lead by half-time.
After the break, further try scorers were Connie Bradshaw with a subtle swerve to the right foxing her defending opposite number, Abbie Smitheman who was unstoppable near the line and team captain Alicia Watkins.
