WORCESTER Swimming Club enjoyed another successful Worcester County Championships with 166 medals.

Six members also claimed prestigious senior county titles.

Worcester's swimmers put down strong early-season markers ahead of the national qualification window from March until the end of May.

In the men’s open events, Sam Hall won the 200-metre breaststroke and 400m individual medley while Anthony Redfern claimed the 50m and 100m freestyle.

Robin Williams took the 100m butterfly and Alex Farmer, 16, secured his first senior county title in the 200m backstroke.

Olivia Fletcher missed half of the championships as she was in France representing Wales for her first international cap.

Fletcher won the 100m IM and Charlotte Hall retained her 50m butterfly crown.

Worcester got 29 more senior silver and bronze open championship medals.

Aaron Cook (silver 800 and 1500 free, bronze 200 butterfly and 400 IM), Josie Armstrong (bronze 800 free, 400 IM and 200 butterfly) and Paralympic silver medallist Becky Redfern (bronze 200 breaststroke) secured championship podium places for the first time.

Lucy Clayton was second in the 50m breaststroke as was club coach Joel Smith in the 50m freestyle.

There were junior 15/under county titles for Megan Annis, Will Gearey, Louis Doyle and Daniel Day.

Annis swam one minute 7.15 seconds in the 100m backstroke and also had six age group golds and one silver.

Gearey amassed nine junior titles in the butterfly, back, free and IM with his 200m free the pick in 2.00.64.

Doyle bagged the 50m and 100m backstroke while Day claimed the 800m and 1500m freestyle with illness denying him further glory.

In the 10/11 boys' events, Harry Chandler secured 10 medals including four golds in the 50m fly, 100m fly, 200m back and 200m free.

Will Pridden's three golds from six medals came in the 200m breaststroke, 400m free and 200m IM.

William Thomas won four medals, including 50m and 100m breaststroke golds, while Beau Vaughan-Hawkins collected 50m butterfly bronze.

Jacob Cutler was fourth behind three Worcester team-mates.

Grace Earp landed a 50m breaststroke bronze.

In the 12 year group, Olivia Eggleton managed two bronzes in the 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Bright prospect David Annis won all his 17 events for a clean sweep.

Charlie Dixon added four medals including bronze in the 200m IM.

For the 13 year group, Bryony Lowe struck gold in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle among seven medals.

Aimee Monks had five medals with golds in the 50m and 100m freestyle.

Adam Rutter also collected five medals and Sam Hawes added one.

In the 14 year 100m IM, Worcester's George Glover, Brodie Willetts and Henry Halford went 1-2-3.

Willetts won 10 medals with golds in the 400m free and 100m and 200m back.

Glover picked up seven medals with further golds in the 200m IM, 50m and 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle in 1.00.93.

Halford added silver in the 100m and 200m breaststroke while there were medals for Eddie Cox (bronze 200 back) and Daniel Kearley (silver 400 free).

Lauren Annis (silver 50 back and bronze 50 breaststroke) and Becky Yates (silver 50, 100 and 200 back and 400 IM) also shone.

There was a 15 year 50m breaststroke bronze for Sam Hartley alongside medals for Maddie Fox-Haskins (bronze 400 free) and Holly Workman (gold 50/100 breaststroke, silver 200 breaststroke and bronze 200 IM).

In the 16+, the championship medallists dominated.

There were bronzes for club captain Harvey Lloyd in the 200m breaststroke and in the 50m butterfly for Naomi Marsden.
