THE University of Worcester finished fourth at the British Universities and Colleges Sport Wheelchair Basketball Championships.

Worcester lost their semi-final by just a single point.

In the first game, the city side showed character against Hull after going 19-2 down in the first quarter.

But through Harry Smith and Tommy Garwood’s coaching tactics they edged closer to victory.

The scores were tied at 42-42, forcing five minutes of extra-time with Worcester winning 48-44 thanks to 23 points from Rob Whale.

Worcester were still recovering but matched up with Brunel until the opposition scored a three-pointer in the dying seconds to win 42-41.

Worcester then took on former champions University of East London and were soundly beaten in the bronze medal game but gave it their all.

Chris Towler, Eve Roberts and Harry Draper have enjoyed their final year with the team.
