SALE'S Denny Solomona will appear before the Rugby Football Union (RFU) charged with "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union or the game".

It follows five days after the homphobic slur storm from Saturday's match between Sale Sharks and Worcester which saw Warriors fly-half Jamie Shillcock report a remark allegedly made by Solomona.

The Sharks winger will appear before a three-person independent disciplinary panel chaired by Samantha Hillas a week today (Thursday, April 5, 6.30pm).

Shillcock, 20, remonstrated with the touch judge on 55 minutes before speaking to referee Andrew Jackson, claiming he had heard a “homophobic slur” used “twice” by an unidentified Sale player.

The complaint was picked up on the ref link, which is available for spectators to listen to, and in the live match commentary, leading to an RFU investigation.
