BACK rower Dewald Potgieter is expected to remain at Worcester Warriors despite rumours of a possible move to Toulon.

Director of rugby Alan Solomons insisted there was no need to hold talks with Potgieter over his future as he was contracted for next season.

According to French newspaper Midi Olympique Toulon were looking to sign Potgieter ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

But the 31-year-old who has not featured this season due to a knee injury is set to stay at Warriors and fight for his place in the back row.

“I don’t need to hold talks with him as he’s under contract,” Solomons said.

Warriors’ chief also admitted the South Africa international was away from the club recovering from Chickenpox.

Potgieter has made 20 appearances for Warriors since arriving at Sixways in February 2016 from Japanese side Yamaha Jubilo but has been blighted by injuries.

“He’s not around as he’s got Chickenpox at the moment,” Solomons said.

“He’s also still injured so he is unavailable and won’t play this season.”
