WORCESTER Lawn Tennis Club enjoyed another successful winter season in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Doubles Leagues.

The ladies' A team were crowned Division One champions after winning all six matches.

Jan Mason, Jo Mason, Kate Horsburgh and Adina Bolfa were joined by Jayne Hobbs, Caron Crawford and Sue Hills.

The C and D teams also finished runners-up in Division Three and Five respectively to earn promotion.

The E side topped Division 11.

The mixed A team were runners-up in Division One while the D and E sides topped their respective leagues.

Caron Crawford and Elliott Nixon played all 12 mixed E matches, dropping just one set.

The strength and depth of men's tennis at Worcester meant nine teams took part.

For the first time in league history, a club-ranked ninth group competed against other first teams.

The A side finished Division One runners-up.

The D and H teams were top of Divisions Three and 11 respectively.

The F group earned promotion from Division Nine as runners-up.

The club now have summer league fixtures for seven men's, seven mixed and three ladies' teams.

The A and B sides faced off in Division One.

The reigning champions Jon Bradshaw, Billy Wright, Nick Aylett, Jack White, James Attwood and Josh Hughes won 6-0.

But the B players Ali Barton, Joe Wherry, James Kerton, Cameron Hamilton-Patel, Oliver Hills and Alex Hills worked hard to pinch a few sets.
