WORCESTER suffered a 14-shot defeat 83-69 at Oldington but both sides gained two winning triples with one tied.

For the first eight ends, the visitors held a narrow lead but then conceded a six and at the tea interval trailed by 12.

On their return to the green, Worcester played a tighter game but could not reduce the arrears although they picked up three threes.

Worcester’s only success came from the triples led by Bob Hanks (5) and Mike Bullock (4) while John Carter’s trio clawed their way back to gain a draw.

Worcester crashed by 28 shots 111-83 at home to Hewell.

With the help of a five, Hewell had gained a lead of seven at five ends.

Finding the green to their liking, the visitors increased their advantage to 26 at the halfway stage after picking up a six, three fours and a three.

With two ends remaining, Hewell had picked up a five and two fours to lead by 40 although Worcester replied with a six.

The hosts scored a total of 12 shots over the final ends but it still left Hewell comfortable winners.

Arthur Jackson’s trio outbowled their opponents to win by 16 shots.

Colin Hemming’s triple trailed throughout the first nine ends then picked up a six but fell behind again.

However, they snatched a one-shot victory on the final end.
