ALI Raza and Charlie Weaver shared nine wickets between them as they helped to secure Worcester a tense win at Feckenham in Worcestershire League Second XI Division One.

The pair tore through the hosts’ batting line-up with Raza finishing on 5-31 and Weaver on 4-29.

The victory takes Worcester to the top as Hagley had to settle for a winning draw after Cookley showed excellent second innings resistance at Hagley Park.

Two points behind the top two are Stourport after a fine century from Spencer Coley (106) eased them to a comfortable nine wicket victory against Pedmore at Walshes Meadow.

Harborne are now fourth following their run fest against lowly Worcester Nomads.

In the other matches Coombs Wood defeated Bewdley by 21 runs thanks to 5-43 from Nigel Butterworth and Droitwich Spa enjoyed their first win of the season as they dispatched Colwall at St. Peters Field by nine wickets. Oldswinford chased down Envilles first innings 212 to stay top of Division Two.

Lye are second after a winning draw against Belbroughton. Mohammed Husnain scored 108 for hosts Lye before Mohammed Ishtiaq secured his second successive five-wicket haul but the visitors hung on.

Mark Bilbrough (110) led third-placed Bromsgrove to a comfortable seven-wicket win against Bartestree at the Hedges Ground.

Elsewhere, Dan Hughes’ 5-39 helped Rushwick to their second consecutive win against Old Vigornians to move into mid-table.

In Division Three, last week’s table-toppers Avoncroft were beaten in a nail biter at Bromyard as Nick Leightons half century steered the Herefordshire men to a one-wicket victory.

Kempsey now find themselves on top after Rhys Goode (5-41) helped dismiss Astwood Bank cheaply to set up a comfortable six wicket win.

In second spot are Kidderminster who also won convincingly against Five Ways OEs following 14-year-old Sam Wright’s open age league career best (4-28).

Claverley remain at the summit of Division Four as Zoe Rix 5-30 led them to a ten wicket victory at Halesowen.

Romsley & Hunnington moved into second after defeating Hallow Taverners by 22 runs and West Malvern are third after beating Stourbridge in a tense two-wicket victory at home.

Meanwhile, Himley posted 297-4 which included excellent contributions from Ben Hopkins (97) and the in-form Luke Bradley (72). The total proved far too many for visiting Hanley Castle & Upton as they were dismissed 138 runs adrift.
