JACKIE Marks edged Jill Brierly to The Worcestershire Golf Club’s Ladies Members Cup crown.
Marks recorded eight pars and two birdies and returned a score of nett 71 to win on countback from Brierly who was four under at the turn.
Jill Pinder finished runner-up in Division One with a nett 75, one clear of Pat Rose in third.
In Division Two, countback was again needed to separate Brenda Low and Davina Taylor who both returned with a nett 73 behind Brierly.
Vanessa Chesterton registered just 28 putts in the same competition to claim the Hollins Putting Cup while Marie Willis was successful in the nine-hole stableford with a score of 15 points.
The Worcestershire seniors continued on their winning way last week with a home win over Minchinhampton.
Captain Andy Peet and Ron Gordon had a fine win 2&1 before notching two more victories, with Nigel Teale and Dave Jones winning 6&5 and Tim Keates and Brian Piner 3&2.
Minchinhampton came back to draw with defeats for Andrew Milne and Terry Cox 6&5, vice captain Keith Hitchcock and Ivor Dalgleish 4&3 and James Noon and Robin Marling 2 & 1.
But the pairings of Allan Davies and Allan Homfray and John Davison and Len Coleman both won by one hole to complete a 5&3 win.
The seniors were soundly beaten 41/2 – 11/2 at Evesham. Peet and Mike Travis lost 4&3 before Tony Cox and Allan Davies who won 2&1 and Gerry Bird and Ron Gordon scoring a half provided a glimmer of hope.
But this was to be the last local success as Noon and Terry Cox lost 3&2, Marling and Davison went down 2&1 and to complete the rout Ron Barker and Hitchcock were beaten by a very strong pair 3&2.
