WORCESTERSHIRE Cricket League Second XI Division One pace-setters Worcester won the battle of the top two by three wickets.

Duncan Kasuso (72) helped the hosts chase down Hagley's 199 to remain top.

Stourport moved into second place as they beat Worcester Nomads by two wickets.

There was no change at the top of Division Two as Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social blew away an under-strength Rushwick by seven wickets.

It remains tight in Division Three with the leading five separated by a maximum-point win.

Previous table-toppers Kempsey fell to third after a heavy defeat at Stourport with Richard Foley taking 5-13 to move his side into fourth.

Fourteen-year-old Elliot Small notched a league career best of 95 for Kidderminster to help secure victory against Himbleton despite 82 and 4-73 from the villagers' 16-year-old Tom Godwin.

Kidderminster went top while Avoncroft moved into second as David Apperley scored 99 not out to lead an eight-wicket home victory over Eastnor.

Fifth-placed Bromyard had to settle for a winning draw against Astwood Bank with Michael Reece claiming 5-32.

In Division Four, 94 from Sahab Gulfham ensured Claverley remained top as they chased down Hallow Taverners' 195 to win by five wickets.

West Malvern slipped to third as they had to settle for a winning draw at Romsley and Hunnington.

Tenbury defeated Hanley Castle and Upton by nine wickets and Malvern beat bottom-of-the-table Halesowen.

Club stalwart Martin Downes took 5-18 for Birlingham against visitors Worcester to seal the Division Six leaders' second successive maximum-point win.

Stone's Peter Harler scored 72 and took 6-37 to catapult them into second place after beating Old Elizabethans by 13 runs. Barnards Green and Hagley are joint top of Division Seven.

Ollie Davies (4-26) and Roger Thompson (4-36) shared wickets for Barnards Green as they routed Old Elizabethans for 62 at Neel Park.

Despite Bilal Bashir taking 5-31 for Worcester, Hagley’s bowlers fought back well to dismiss the hosts cheaply and gain victory by 60 runs.

In Division Eight North, Jon Dean scored 103no for short-staffed Feckenham but it was not enough to prevent Old Halesonians from securing victory.

Rushwick and Worcester Nomads were forced to concede due to lack of numbers in Division Eight South which gave Bredon and table-toppers Evesham maximum-point wins respectively.

Bewdley, thanks to Simon Cross (82), chased down Cookley's 176-7 after Phil Dixon scored 76no.
