REDHILL Fillies ladies' skittles team won the Doris (Fern) Dee final against top-of-the-table Brew Belles.
Proud team captain Chris Cooke's partner is Don Fern who had dedicated the Doris Fern Trophy in memory of his wife when she died.
Fillies had played three matches to get to the final and then it all came down to the last ball.
They needed 76 for the victory which was a big ask as they had struggled to get high scores in previous legs during the match.
Julie Philpotts got a 13 spare which spurred Fillies on and the last bowler Cooke needed six to win with a nine securing a four-pin success.
Cooke said: "It just goes to show that if you try hard you can achieve what you want and we all did it for Don."
