LONG-standing member John Steel has been elected president of Broadwas Croquet Club.
Steel, 79, has been a playing member at the club for 10 years and responsible for the maintenance of the club’s infrastructure and lawns for some time.
The annual high bisque competition for players with a handicap of seven or higher was won by Peter Hill.
Rod Ellis was second on equal points but finished runner-up after losing to Hill in their singles encounter.
