REDDITCH United has agreed terms with midfielder Declan Benjamin and defender Joel Meade.

Benjamin made more than 200 appearances for Oxford City, helping them to promotion to National South as well as representing Banbury United and Kidlington.

Meade is another player known to new Reds manager Paul Davis through his Oxfordshire connections, featuring under him at Banbury and Ardley United.

“Declan is clearly a player that can play at a high level,” said Davis.

“We had to fight off strong competition to secure his services.

“He will dictate games and chip in with goals but more importantly, will be a leader for us and that will be crucial ahead of the new season.

“Joel is a central defender that reads the game well and will fancy his chances in a race with any striker.

“Again, there were a lot of clubs vying for his signature.”

Benjamin and Meade will join fellow new recruits Jordan Mills, Louis Ezewele, Nathaniel Lewars, Jamie Ashmore, Luke Keen, Max Loveridge and Montel Gibson when pre-season gets underway on June 28.

The recruitment represents an overhaul at the Valley Stadium with Stuart Fleetwood, Tristian Dunkley, Lewis Wright among those announced as committed to other clubs for next season.
