HEAD coach Paul James is set to leave Worcester Wolves after nine years in charge of the British Basketball League outfit.

Wolves have confirmed James who joined the club in 2009 will depart on Saturday, June 30.

The vastly-experienced coach enjoyed his most successful season with Worcester in 2014 when they won the BBL Trophy at the Emirates Arena and then became BBL play-off champions, beating Newcastle Eagles at Wembley Arena.

In the past three years Worcester have reached the play-offs under the coaching of James and lost to Cheshire Phoenix in the final of the BBL Cup at the Arena Birmingham in January.

In a statement from the club, James said: "I have enjoyed my time with the Worcester Wolves and now look forward to exploring new opportunities for myself and my family."

Managing director Mick Donovan added: "We recognise that Paul played a key role in taking the club to a higher level and thank him for his invaluable contribution; everyone at the Wolves wishes Paul well in the future."
