FOUR of the biggest names in the world of snooker are heading to Malvern next month as the Premier League rolls into town.
Seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry will take on Ronnie O'Sullivan, while six-time Premier League winner Steve Davis faces Neil Robertson in the second round of matches at the Forum Theatre on Thursday, September 13.
Now entering its 22nd season, the Premier League is the only major tournament on the snooker calendar played in a league format and also features world champion John Higgins, Jimmy White and Ding Junhui.
It is played in a round-robin format over six-frame matches at 10 venues until November 22 with the top four players progressing to the semi-finals and final in December.
The total prize fund is £250,000 with £1,000 on offer for each frame won in the round-robin section and a further £1,000 for every century break. Kidderminster's Glades Arena will host the penultimate round of matches - Higgins v Junhui and O'Sullivan v Robertson - on November 15.
