CATH Francis finished seven shots clear of nearest rival Ursula Pearson to win The Worcestershire Golf Club’s Silver Scratch Cup.

The six-handicapper’s gross score of 80 proved too good for Pearson who was runner-up ahead of Jackie Marks with 88 in third.

The battle for the Bronze Scratch Cup was much tighter.

Newcomer Fiona Lucas showed she was getting to grips with the course as she came third with a gross 98.

The Worcestershire A Team lost 2.5-3.5 to Evesham despite McCabe (4) and Paul Wakely (11) winning a tight match on the 18th.
