KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new season with two signings in as many days.

Harriers confirmed the signing of experienced former Walsall man James Baxendale yesterday and within 24 hours, versatile former Coventry City man Billy Daniels had also put pen to paper.

Attacking midfielder Baxendale, age 25, has almost 200 senior appearances to his name at Football League level.

He racked up a century of those games with the Saddlers and after a spell with Mansfield, spent much of last season in the US before returning to England with Alfreton.

Baxendale has penned a short-term deal with Harriers having already spent the better part of three weeks pre-season training with the squad.

Boss Neil MacFarlane said: “We’re absolutely delighted. His attitude has been infectious.”

Baxendale was joined today by Billy Daniels. The 24-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the club having worked with boss MacFarlane at the Sky Blues.

Capable of playing in midfield, out wide or up front, Billy has spent the last three seasons with Nuneaton.

Baxendale and Daniels join fellow new signings Ashley Chambers, Ryan Johnson and former Gloucester City man Ed Williams in the squad for tomorrow’s showpiece friendly against Aston Villa, at Aggborough. Kick off at 3pm.
