WORCESTER City dished out a pre-season hammering to neighbours Worcester Raiders with an 8-1 friendly success at Claines Lane today.

Bromsgrove-based City will head to Dudley Town on Wednesday on the back of a convincing triumph at their hosts who play two levels below them in West Midlands League Division One.

John Snape's Midland League Premier Division side went ahead in the 16th minute through summer signing Jordan Harrison who had also scored in the previous weekend's 2-0 win at Malvern Town.

Harrison was also involved in the second goal with a cross for James Baldwin to convert on 24 minutes.

Dave Reynolds punished a defensive mistake to make it 3-0 to City on 40 minutes before Raiders, the highest-ranked club still playing in Worcester, pulled one back with a volley before half-time.

After a raft of half-time changes, returning forward Joe Bates added to the City tally on the hour mark.

George Forsyth scored the fifth from the penalty spot and Bates bagged his second from distance in the 75th minute.

Youth product Riley Keasey netted the seventh in the 84th minute before Nick Turton completed the scoring late on.

In other pre-season friendlies, Kidderminster Harriers drew 1-1 against an Aston Villa side including highly-rated midfielder Jack Grealish.

Centre-half Fraser Horsfall netted an early goal for Harriers at Aggborough but the Midlands giants levelled swiftly through teenage forward Harvey Knibbs.

Harriers featured many trialists and academy graduates in a goalless second period.

Evesham United crashed 5-0 to National League outfit Solihull Moors at the Jubilee Stadium.

Hereford FC won 3-1 at Sporting Khalsa through Lance Smith, Mike Symons and Harry White.

Bromsgrove Sporting won 5-1 at Lichfield City.
