WORCESTERSHIRE'S George Rhodes took nine wickets as Barnards Green thrashed Leamington Spa by nine wickets in Birmingham League Division One.

Spa were dismissed for 74 as Rhodes claimed 9-23 in 11.4 overs.

An unbeaten 39 from Ryan Tongue completed the win for Green.

Bromsgrove moved clear of the bottom two with a 57-run win over Brockhampton who were dismissed for 130.

After Bromsgrove slumped to 82-7, an eighth-wicket partnership of 71 between Tom Hill (47 not out) and Deon Patel (41) saw them to 187 all out with Jamie McIlroy taking 3-38.

Brockhampton reached 61-0 but the dismissals of Adam Hewlett (22) at 61 and Worcestershire's Daryl Mitchell (37) at 67 began a collapse with only 63 more runs for the loss of eight wickets.

The damage was done by left-arm spinners Mark Evenson (5-20) and Ashley Newfield (3-8).

Kidderminster bounced back from a defeat with a five-wicket win over Bridgnorth to lead the table by 29 points over Oswestry.

Apart from 61no from 48 balls by Adam Quiney, Bridgnorth had little answer to an attack spearheaded by Liam Weston who took the first six wickets for 33 to reduce them to 48-6.

Quiney’s effort added respectability but 52 from Richard Kimberlin saw the table-toppers cruise to another 24 points.

In the Premier Division, Ombersley chose to bat first on a lively pitch at Smethwick as their 169-9 owed almost everything to a mature 96 from Worcestershire's Josh Dell.

He faced 165 balls with nine boundaries and two sixes, dominating a stand of 73 for the eighth wicket with skipper Arti Fiaz (15 from 58 balls).

Gurinder Singh took 3-45 for Smethwick on a pitch that turned from the start but seamer Gareth Andrew (4-36) inspired Ombersley to a 25-run victory.

Singh top scored with 46 in Smethwick’s 144 but the innings fell away to Oliver Uffindall (3-39) and Josh Haynes (3-45) after he was out at 138-7.

Dartmouth’s top three made hay against Barnt Green with Amit John smashing 70.

Kadeer Ali (69) and Omar Masood (47) also played their part as Dartmouth reached 281-9 in 55 overs.

Jacques Banton picked up four late wickets for 25 after Josh Poysden took 3-89.

Jamie Harrison hit a defiant 75 from 113 balls as Green closed on 178-7.

In Division Two, Harborne won by 172 runs against bottom-of-the-table Astwood Bank.

At 116-5, Harborne were heading for a mediocre total but 106no from 84 balls by Tejas Wagle inspired a recovery to 332-7 with assistance from Karan Bharaj (66) in a stand of 152 for the sixth wicket.

Guriq Randhawa opened the innings with 62 and the total proved far too large for Bank who folded to 160 all out despite 47 from Sam Thomas and 44 from Steve Adshead.

Thomas Harris (3-100) had been the most successful bowler for Bank but Harborne’s Srikant Mundhe (5-45) took the honours with the ball.

Visitors Coventry and NW were dismissed for 188 in the 50th over, leaving Pershore 60 overs to reach their target.

Tarandeep Toor (69) and Matthew Clements (60) starred for Coventry with Pershore’s Charlie Cross taking 4-38 and Darren Critcher 4-40.

At 171-6, Pershore appeared to be heading for victory after 55 from Chris Miles but Toor took three quick wickets to send them to 180-9.

Earlier Greg Ricketts took 4-41 but he no longer had overs to bowl as Pershore’s last-wicket pair inched them over the line with four balls remaining.

The main run-scorers in Stratford’s 281-7 against Old Elizabethans in Division Three were Alex Marney (87), Chris Whelan (68) and Declan Waddington (44) while skipper Alex Bastable took 5-62.

James Urquhart claimed 6-29 as the Worcester visitors folded to 114 all out.

Pelsall’s 292-9 against Redditch came after an opening stand of 77 between Tom Boyd (40) and Alex Jones (30).

This was built upon by Todd Henderson (91) while Waqas Ali took 4-77 for Redditch.

Openers Tom Field (57) and Rizwan Chaudhry (40) put on 79 and Timothy Fitch added 40 to take Redditch to 132-2.

But they then lost regular wickets to Boyd (4-36) before hanging on with 229-9 after an unbeaten last-wicket partnership of 26.
