CLUBS continue their pre-season preparations tonight with a host of friendlies.

National League North side Kidderminster Harriers will split up their squad, trialists and youth prospects for a double-header.

Harriers entertain relegated League One outfit Burton Albion at Aggborough and head to Southern League Premier Central new boys Alvechurch in the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup semi-finals (both 7.45pm).

New manager Neil MacFarlane was pleased to see Kidderminster hold Midlands giants Aston Villa 1-1 on Saturday in their first pre-season friendly after fielding different sides in each half.

He said: “I’m very pleased and I’ve told the group that in the dressing room.

“I could see the work we’ve been doing every single day on the training ground starting to come to fruition.”

Last season’s top scorer Joe Ironside and summer signing James Baxendale may feature in the Burton match as they manage slight knocks.

Promoted Hereford FC limber up for their first National North campaign at Southern League side Evesham United tonight (7.45pm).

The sides met in league action only two seasons ago but Hereford have continued their meteoric rise.

Evesham have signed former Forest Green Rovers, Gloucester City and Cirencester Town forward Steve Davies.

The striker or winger, 29, has also played for Mangotsfield United and Yate Town.

Davies joins up with summer signings Harvey Rivers, Nathan Summers, Shayne Anson, Joe Tumelty and Marley Thomas.

He scored in a 4-1 defeat at Brimscombe and Thrupp last week.

But defender Andy Lewis has returned to Cinderford Town after spending the second half of last season with Evesham.

Redditch United host Rugby Town tonight (7.45pm) after a 3-1 win over Romulus at the weekend.

Giancarlo Gabbiadini, Leam Howards and Jamie Ashmore scored the goals.

Worcester City’s next friendly is at West Midlands League Premier Division outfit Dudley Town tomorrow (7.45pm).
