HIMBLETON skipper Stuart Dickenson says all focus must be on their relegation battle when basement boys Wormelow visit on Saturday (1pm).

The third-from-bottom Meadow Boys could do without a slip-up with a 32 and 40-point lead over Kempsey and Wormelow respectively.

But Dickenson will be unavailable with Jamie Alford returning as captain alongside Greg Dale, Paul Guy, Rich Pretty and Rich Sugden.

Himbleton’s woes continued with a five-wicket home defeat to Enville last weekend.

Openers Jon Critchlow (53) and Dickenson (21) rattled up 76 in just 12 overs but Zishan Sohail (4-43) helped reduce them to 142-5.

Sixteen-year-old Tom Godwin scored 30 and his brother Will, 13, 12 to set a competitive 198 all out.

Enville set about the chase with 63 for the first wicket in 10 overs.  Two fine catches from wicketkeeper Sean Jenkins off Mike Rogers (3-27) slowed down the visitors but they eventually won with 10 overs to spare.

Dickenson said: “They simply got the best of the wicket. Still, it was a disappointing loss against a side we should be beating with a full-strength side.

"The youngsters who came in at the last minute, Tom and Will, showed maturity beyond their years to help dig us out of a hole.

"So that bodes well for the future. But we need to focus on our relegation battle with Wormelow.”
