WORCESTER City’s second season in the Midland Football League (MFL) kicks off with two trips to Birmingham inside three days.

John Snape’s men begin by returning to Boldmere St Michaels on Saturday, August 4, the scene of last season’s epic 4-3 FA Vase victory.

Two days later they head to Castle Vale for a first league match against Romulus following their relegation from Northern Premier League Division One South.

City then embark on the FA Cup trail on Saturday, August 11, journeying to MFL Division One champions Walsall Wood.

The home campaign finally starts at home to Quorn in Wednesday, August 15, representing a change of night for midweek matches to avoid clashes with landlords Bromsgrove Sporting.

Derbies against Stourport Swifts, where Mark Danks is assistant manager, take place at home on August Bank Holiday Monday, August 27 with the return at Walshes Meadow on Boxing Day.

Reformed giants Ilkeston Town will likely bring a bumper following to the Victoria Ground on Saturday, October 20 and there could be a grandstand finish when fancied Highgate United, jointly managed by ex-Bromsgrove boss Paul Smith, visit on the final day of the season.
