MARK Wilcox has resigned from the board of directors at Worcester City.

The development director will remain at the head of City’s youth section but will no longer undertake boardroom duties with “work and family commitment” cited in a club statement which also addressed the recently-published Worcester City Council report on Parsonage Way.

It leaves chairman Anthony Hampson, vice-chairman Colin Layland and Martin Pinches as City's three remaining directors.

The verdict from council officers was that building a new stadium for the homeless club on the site would be an “unrealistic option” due in part to costing up to £2.5million.

Councillors will decide on how to act on the report’s findings at a Policy and Resources Committee meeting on Monday.

Neither Hampson nor Wilcox were available for comment when contacted by the Worcester News.
