HEREFORD’S perfect start to life in National North came with a warning from boss Peter Beadle who will accept “no excuses for dropping” standards.

The Bulls, promoted as champions in each of the past three seasons since reforming from the ashes of Hereford United, bashed Blyth Spartans 3-0 on their return to non-league football’s second tier.

Beadle’s boys dominated from the off and it came as no surprise when Harry White rifled home from the edge of the box 29 minutes in.

Mike McGrath made it two on the stroke of half-time, glancing home an Eliot Richards delivery.

Richards then wrapped up the points 16 minutes from the end, slotting away after being found by Lance Smith.

“I thought we were exceptional,” said Beadle.

“We really started the game on the front foot and the goals came at really good times for us, when we were on top and had control of the game.

“I said to the players they had set their standards for the season so there are no excuses for dropping below how they performed.”

“Three goals and a clean sheet, we could ask for no more.”
