WORCESTER CITY (3-5-2)
8 GWYNNE – could not have done anymore to cement his place in the number one shirt as he produced a flurry of fine saves to keep City in the tie. My man of the match.
7 English – grew in stature as the match wore on and was unlucky not to get a penalty in the first half when he appeared to be wrestled to the ground by the goalkeeper.
7 Stoddart – put his neck on the line for his side as City dealt with Wood’s aerial bombardment until Sullivan’s late equaliser to force a replay.
6 Smith – another Worcester player who was solid in the air but his decision to send the ball long when it came to his feet only gifted Wood possession.
7 Weir – moved out to wing back the former Hereford ace spent a lot of time in his own half but stepped up defensively, often there to clear the danger.
6 Birley – did not have the same influence as he had against Romulus last Monday but showed flashes of quality and proved his match fitness with another 90-minute shift.
6 Clarke – was wasteful with his passing at times – even thumping the ball straight at the referee when he looked to go wide – but you can’t knock his desire.
7 Lockett – demonstrated great footwork to cut through Wood’s defence at the death and then lay the ball on a plate for Reynolds who failed to convert.
6 Caines – rarely saw the ball in attack as the hosts piled on the pressure but almost helped his team secure what would have been a hard-earned clean sheet.
6 Evans - coming back from injury the striker worked off scraps as he plugged away up front without getting a shot away on goal.
6 Reynolds – showed superb composure to slot home the penalty but was guilty of missing a sitter in the dying minutes when he was denied on the line by Rowley.
