WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids' Vitality Blast captain Moeen Ali has been made available to play by England at Birmingham Bears tonight (6.30pm).

The all-rounder has been cleared to feature against his former county after not being included in the nation's starting XI announced for the third Specsavers Test with India at Trent Bridge starting tomorrow.

Luke Wood returns to the Rapids squad for the North Group finale at Edgbaston.

The on-loan Nottinghamshire paceman was ineligible to face his parent club in Sunday’s clash at Blackfinch New Road.

Wood has played all 10 matches in the Blast he has been available for since joining up with the County on a temporary basis last month plus the Specsavers County Championship clash with Somerset.

The 23-year-old is part of a 15-strong squad named by head coach Kevin Sharp.

Brett D’Oliveira, who has skippered the side in Moeen’s absence, will have a late fitness test on the badly bruised finger suffered when fielding on second XI duty against Warwickshire at Barnt Green this week.

Worcestershire will seal a home quarter-final final if they secure a win, a tie or a washout from this evening’s fixture.

But Yorkshire Vikings' victory at Northampton Steelbacks last night means Bears cannot qualify unless there is a tie between Vikings and Notts Outlaws at Headingley this evening and then if they defeat Rapids the fourth qualifying spot will be decided on run-rate.

Worcestershire from: Clarke, Ferguson, D’Oliveira, Fell, Westbury, Cox, Whiteley, Barnard, Parnell, Mitchell, Rhodes, Brown, Wood, Pennington, Moeen.
