KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will be after Blood when they host Droylsden tonight (7.45).

Mark Yates' men were left in the dark at Ebbsfleet United after getting trapped in the Dartford Tunnel forcing the game to be delayed by 15 minutes.

The late arrival of Harriers saw them slump in the opening 45 minutes and fall 3-0 behind by the interval.

But James Constable slammed home his second hat-trick of the season to turn Saturday's Blue Square Premier clash into a nine-goal thriller that the Harriers lost by the odd goal.

In attack, the Aggborough men were sublime yet it seemed the defence were left in the tunnel, leaving Yates seething once again in the south-east after a 5-1 thrashing at Grays earlier in the season.

"Defensively, we were shocking," Yates said. "I won't tolerate defending like that. We were appaling without the ball.

"Before this, we had three clean sheets in the last four games and we have to make sure that we are better tonight. This game is vital now."

Young keeper Dean Coleman endured a baptism of fire on his debut after replacing the injured Scott Bevan.

Yates will hope to bring back the experienced Bevan tonight after resting him due to a minor calf problem.

He will have his fingers crossed over a possible key return for skipper Stuart Whitehead (ankle) in central defence.

The Bloods are searching for their first win of the season after slumping to a seventh defeat of the campaign at home to Weymouth on Saturday.

Last season's Conference North champions have failed to adjust to life in the top flight of the non-league pyramid.

Droylsden, hammered 5-1 at Harriers in the FA Cup last season, drew their opening two games against fellow newcomers Salisbury City and Northwich Victoria.

However, since then, the Bloods have not picked up a point and only scored one goal in their last three games.

That strike came from Jody Banim, the once prolific striker who earned a £20,000 move to Shrewsbury in 2003 from Radcliffe after netting 97 goals in 125 games.

But the former Manchester United trainee, now 28, struggled to break into the Shrews' team.
