WORCESTER Ladies 2nds made an impressive start to their season with a 5-1 victory over Harborne.

The hosts started strongly, putting pressure on the Harborne defence from early on.

Emily Swinsford put Worcester into the lead after some good passing throughout the hosts side.

Cath Fordham doubled the Worcester advantage shortly after when she made a break into the Harborne D' to drill the ball home.

Worcester's third goal came when Vicki Kovacs converted a short corner, while Lucy Senior and Rebecca Busher struck in the second half.

Harborne managed to make their own mark on the game by getting a goal back late in the second-half.

Worcester Ladies 3rd X1 2, Kidderminster 3 The thirds made a good start in their friendly with Kidderminster last weekend, however, they fell to a narrow defeat.

Worcester took a 2-1 lead into the break, before the visitors came back in the second-half and netted twice to snatch victory away from the battling thirds.

Worcester Mens 3rd X1 6, Solihull Blos 1 Worcester got off the mark early in this friendly with Solihull.

Debutant N Abinmanue made the perfect start to his Worcester career with two well-taken goals.

Josh White showed great touch with some fine right-wing play.

With Worcester taking comple control they became a little sloppy allowing Solihull to score just before half-time.

Worcester captain Mark Chambers gave his players a stern half-time team talk to kick them back into line and they finished off Solihull.

Chris Kendall struck twice with M Walker also netting, while man-of-the-match Abinmanue completed his hat-trick to seal the rout.

Worcester Mens 4th 4, Solihull 0 Worcester got their season off to a fine start as they entertained Solihull.

The hosts started strongly, however, their lack of fitness started show after only 20 minutes.

Chris Simmons opened the scoring for Worcester when he struck a tremendous goal after his first shot was well saved by the Solihull keeper, but he was on hand to slot home the rebound.

Worcester finished the first period sluggish and it needed a strong a half-time talk from returning skipper Yorkie Senior.

The second-half saw the hosts put on a much improved display as they kept thing tight and put together some nice flowing passing moves.

Eventually Phil Jones scored a short corner after peppering the Solihull goal.

Some good passing moves from Mel Wycherly, Senior and DJ Mullet helped Andrew Hadley fire in a bullet shot which was turned in by Simon Tinley.

Scott Seckham finished off the goals with a lovely sweeping shot to beat three defenders and the keeper.

Solihull 5th 1, Worcester Mens 5th 10.

Owen Edwards put in a five-star performance as the fifth team went on the rampage in Solihull.

Worcester started quickly and scored their first through last season's top scorer Edwards.

Edwards went on to put another three past the young Solihull keeper before Jon Podmore and Adam Wade stretched Worcester's lead even further.

Edwards then scored his fifth before Solihull scored a goal late on in the half but the tie was out of reach by then.

Worcester tried different tactics in the second-half in preparation for their difficult season and scored three more, two from exciting youngster Gareth Roberts and one from centre back Ben Glass.

Worcester 6th 0, Telford 4th 4 A rusty sixth team suffered a heavy defeat from a very well organised Telford side.

Telford dominated the game and the result was well deserved.

Ludlow 2nds 0, Worcester Mens 7th 2 Worcester started slow and were put under pressure early.

Ludlow had two goals disallowed and were caught on the break just before half-time and a Sam Glass effort rebounded to Andy Pritchard who put his chance away.

Worcs commanded the second-half and soon increased their lead again through Pritchard.

Ludlow were very dangerous on the break but Worcester held out for the win.
