KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Mark Yates praised his side's performance after they defeated Droylsden 3-1 in the Blue Square Premier.

Jonny Harkness, James Constable and Mark Creighton hit the target as Harriers notched their third Aggborough victory in a row which have produced 10 goals for the hosts.

The only downside against the Bloods was a red card for substitute Gavin Hurren in stoppage time, just 10 minutes after coming on.

Yates said: "I thought we played some really good stuff.

"I thought my front two (Constable and Justin Richards) were excellent, the combination play between them and the chances they created for one another was superb.

"We just had to keep going and believing. Droylsden have got some good, attacking players and we knew if we didn't defend well they'd cause us problems and I think we did well."

Of Hurren's straight red for an alleged two-footed tackle on Ged Murphy, Yates said: "I know this sounds like Arsene Wenger but I did not see the incident.

"I was looking away because I was annoyed that we gave the ball away in midfield.

"But Gavin Hurren felt it wasn't a two-footed challenge and that he was unlucky.

"It will be a three-match ban unless the video shows any different and the referee's then prepared to have a look at it, so we'll see where we go."

However, Yates was disappointed with the 1,289 crowd despite Harriers showing much improved home form.

He added: "It is an expensive business to watch football but I'd like to make a plea to fans to say that we are worth watching and there is something about us this year."

Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Rovers won 2-0 at Shepshed Dynamo in their FA Cup first qualifying round replay to set up a date with Nuneaton Borough a week on Saturday.

Rovers forward Jermaine Clarke scored both goals.
