WORCESTER City are facing up to the prospect of being without a home match for another month.

City played back-to-back games at St George's Lane on Saturday and Monday but are not scheduled to play there again until Southport visit in Blue Square North on October 20.

Andy Preece's side travel to Alfreton Town this weekend and make their second trip of the season to Tamworth seven days later in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

The team then goes to Boston United, who suffered a double demotion from the Coca-Cola League Two in the summer, on Saturday, October 6.

City could return to the Lane on Monday week should an FA Cup replay be needed against the Lambs and would be hoping for a home draw in the third qualifying round on October 13 if they progress.

Otherwise, it looks like being a barren few weeks with precious little money to recoup from gate receipts.

City chief Dave Boddy said: "I am a little bit disappointed about that, it's a bit difficult.

"But we have had two home games on the spin, which would compensate for that. It's just a bit of an anomaly."

Boddy, though, said he didn't envisage the situation causing any financial repercussions for the club.
