WORCESTER Nomads are still searching for their first Crusader Worcestershire League Division One win of the season.

Nomads held on for a seven-point losing draw at home to Pershore who were put into bat and scored 202-6.

David White (48) and 15-year-old Joe Taylor (48) put on 63 before bowler Ben Schiffmann had immediate success.

James Smith took several wickets but Lee Wilks (39 not out) and Trevor Ridings (18no) kept Pershore going.

In reply, Nomads struggled against disciplined bowling and were forced to take risks which led to three stumpings and two run-outs.

Paul Gardner (25) gave them hope but it was left to Darren Lakin (19no) and Derek Austin (9no) to earn the draw.

Nomads seconds beat Pershore by seven wickets after restricting their hosts to 186-7.

Matt Ormerod (3-38) was impressive, while Neil Thompson and Oliver Butterworth collected wickets too. In reply, openers Andy Leach (98) and Dave Finbow (58) went for the victory from the first over.

Victory was sewn up in the 32nd over by Ormerod and Josh Stafford with Nomads ending on 190-3.

In the plate competition, Nomads won their first ever fourth team fixture by 32 runs against Stourport Thirds.

Dave Pearson (35) and Alex Claytor, who hit two sixes and nine fours in his 68, posted a 118-run opening stand.

David Moriarty (23no), Will Moriarty (16) and Richard Lonsdale (22) helped Nomads to 203-6 from 45 overs.

Stourport batted through to 171-9 with Ryan Delo scoring 57no and Lonsdale taking 4-22.

Nomads seconds lost to Kays by three wickets in a friendly at Neel Park.

Nomads scored 201-8 from 45 overs with Malcolm Jones hammering 22 boundaries in his 136no.

But Kays won on the last ball of the final over with Paul Mason hitting 94no and 37 extras helping.
