Despite matters seemingly going against them off the pitch, Worcester Raiders continued to impress on it as they maintained their unbeaten start to the new Hellenic League Premier season with a 4-1 win at Longlevens AFC on Wednesday night.

Isaac Cooper, Jordan Murphy and Jade Ferron put Raiders 3-0 up but Lucas Price’s goal just before half-time gave the hosts a lifeline.

But Cooper made sure of the points in the second-half with a stunning 25-yard strike into the top corner.

Ahead of kick-off, much of the talk concerning Raiders has been surrounding the current financial situation at their Sixways home.

On Monday night, the ground's rugby club and owners, Worcester Warriors, entered administration and were suspended from all competitions.

This has resulted in the stadium being out of bounds until the crisis is resolved, meaning Raiders are having to find alternative options to play their home games.

"We have been having conversations with various clubs and people about the possibility of using their grounds," added Henderson.

"But we don't have a home game until October 15 and then if the situation does not improve then we will have to explore our options.

"But we just want everyone to know that we will be okay.

"We are sorting out what we are going to do. We had a good, long chat last night (Wednesday) and we all agreed that what ever happens off it, it won't affect what's happening on it.

"If some players were worried, I wanted it to be out in the open and everyone had a chance to get their thoughts out there.

"We are going to crack on as normal to try and finish as high as we can.

"We know we can do something special this season if we continue the way they are.

"Our aim is to be there or there about come Christmas, be in the mix. At the end of the season we want to be in the discussion and we know that if we are, we have the players to make something special happen."

The 4-1 win pushed Raiders into third in the table, just five points off leaders Cribbs with a game in hand and their unbeaten start in tact.

"We blew them away first half, we scored three goals and should have had more," said assistant manager Tyrone Henderson.

"They scored at the end of the half and then we came out second half, Isaac (Cooper) scores a worldie and that killed the game.

"Then we gave some some minutes to those who have been away and it was just a very one sided game really

"A great way to bounce back from Westfields defeat in the Vase last weekend."
