WORCESTER Warriors Women responded in style to off-field matters in recent days to put 50 points past Wasps Women for their second Allianz Premier 15s win of the season.

Having been informed by the RFU that they were not included in the original eight teams selected to form the league next season, Warriors ran in eight unanswered tries in a rampant performance at Twyford Avenue.

Wasps, another of the four teams left out of league, had no response to Jo Yapp's side, who had the bonus-point secured by half-time thanks to tries from Alex Callender Paige Farries and Lana Skeldon.

Charlotte Wright-Haley scored twice after the break and Farries also crossed again before Abi Kershaw rounded off the scoring to complete a comprehensive win and take Worcester up into sixth in the table.

After the match, head coach Jo Yapp reflected on a fine win that was fuelled by plenty of emotion.

"We are really proud of the girls, to put 50 points on any team in this league is tough," she said.

"It was an emotional game for both sides with the news on Friday. But the girls have time and time again showed how resilient they are and as a staff group we are really proud of them."

Despite being left out of the league, there are still two places for teams to apply at a later date and that is exactly what Worcester will be doing according to Yapp.

"We have spoken to the players, we will not roll over," she added.

"Yes we haven't been successful but there are two more places left in this league and we really want to fight for that.

"On the field, we will keep concentrating and improving week on week with performances."
