THE Hellenic League have named Worcester City as their Team of the Month in the Premier Division after they completed a perfect October.

City won all four of their league matches to take their spot at the top of the Premier table, as well as winning their two cup games against Calne Town in the Wiseman Lighting Cup and Sleaford Town in the FA Vase on Saturday.

In that run, City have scored 20 goals across their six games, including 14 in the league, to see them overtake early pace setters Corsham Town at the Hellenic Leaguer Premier summit.

Whilst it has been a successful month for the team, it was also a good couple of weeks for City's and the league's top goal scorer Liam Lockett.

Lockett, who returned to City in the summer, has 14 league goals in total and he ended the month with five goals in six games, with three of those coming in the Hellenic Premier.

As October comes to an end, City remain in charge of the league. Whilst they are level on points with Corsham, Worcester have three games in hand, one of which comes on Wednesday at Hereford Lads Club in the opening game of November.

The next month will bring another six games. After Wednesday's trip to Hereford, City return home to face Mangotsfield United on Saturday, before Chris Cornes' men go to Wolverhampton Casuals in the second-round of the FA Vase.

City then end the month with three tricky-looking league clashes with sides in the top half of the table, all of which are home. Royal Wootton Bassett Town, Slimbridge and Cinderford Town all come to Claines Lane to try and topple the league leaders.
