FORMER Worcester City forward James Baldwin has left Pershore Town to join Hellenic League Premier rivals Hereford Pegasus

Baldwin first signed for Pershore Town on dual-registration terms from Worcester City in 2019, before making his move permanent in the summer of that year.

He briefly had a spell with Worcester Raiders in the 2019/20 campaign, before returning to Pershore ahead of the 2020/21 season, where he has been ever since.

Baldwin scored 25 goals in 54 appearances for The Plums in last season's Hellenic League Division One title-winning campaign and was part of the squad that completed a non-league cup treble in 21/22.

Pershore Town confirmed the news on X (previously known as Twitter) on Wednesday evening and fans took to the platform to share their disappointment.

Baldwin becomes the second players to leave Pershore in the last week, following Aidan Clark out of the door, who has joined Evesham United.

They have been two key players both on and off the pitch in recent years at the club and will no doubt be missed in more ways than one.

The departures come amidst a difficult period for Pershore, in which they have lost three of their last four in all competitions and will be hoping to end a run of back-to-back league defeats this weekend when they host Highworth Town.
