FORMER Worcester City midfielder Tyler Weir recorded his 100th game for Newent Town on Wednesday evening.

The 32-year-old has been with the Step 6 club since 2019 when he left Evesham United and on Wednesday made his 100th appearance in the 4-2 Hellenic League Challenge Cup defeat to Cinderford Town.

Weir scored twice in the defeat, including one from the penalty spot, to mark the momentous occasion.

Weir's 14-year career has seen him make Football League appearances for hometown club Hereford back in 2009.

Having made a handful of appearances for The Bulls, Weir spent time on loan at both Gloucester City and Worcester City, where he would go on to play over 150 games.

He was a member of the famous City side that beat Coventry City in the first-round of the FA Cup in 2014.

Weir also played for Halesowen Town and Evesham before moving to Newent, where he has played and captained for four years.
