KING'S Worcester reclaimed the Modus Challenge Cup after a convincing 34-8 win over fierce rivals RGS Worcester at Sixways on Sunday afternoon.

Francesco Cinao's hat-trick and further scores from Sam Edwards, Will Dorrell and Alex Dowling completed the victory for King's in front of a packed East Stand at the old home of Worcester Warriors.

There was a late push for a comeback from RGS after Joe Callow crashed over, but it was not enough in the end and it was King's who celebrated with the trophy and their supporters at full-time.

The first-half started well for RGS and after a period of pressure in the King's 22, Callum Butler kicked a penalty to make it 3-0.

But the rest of the first-half belonged to King's and four tries were scored to give them a commanding lead at the break.

First, Dorrell came up with the ball after a try from a dominant rolling maul, which was followed by Cinao's first of the afternoon, scrambling over in the corner.

More pressure on the RGS line provided the third as Edwards got in on the act after King's worked the overlap well down the left.

Cinao then scored a second and King's fourth with the final play of the half to King's a 22-3 half-time lead.

King's started the second-half as they finished it, camped on the RGS try-line looking to score what felt like being the killer try. And Cinao was the one who got it, again dotting down from close-range.

RGS didn't let King's runaway with the game and they had what felt like their first real spell of pressure on the King's line, before a scrum saw Callow go over after Charlie Timmington's snipe.

But any hopes of a comeback were snuffed out in the 71st minute as replacement Alex Dowling scored the sixth try for King's to seal the victory.
