TWO players have left Hereford FC after their deals have come to an end ahead of the festive fixtures.

Midfielder Connor Stanley has seen his short-term deal ended and Kidderminster Harriers loanee Ethan Freemantle has returned to his parent club.

“In football, one of the most difficult things is when players have to move on but, sadly, that’s the nature of the business,” Hereford boss Paul Caddis told the club’s website.

“Connor Stanley and Ethan Freemantle have given us every ounce of their energy during their time here and shown brilliant attitudes from the very first day they walked through the door.

“Connor was heavily involved in a brilliant first home win of the season, scoring the winning goal late on against Darlington and we all remember the scenes after that!

“I want to thank Connor for his commitment in training every single day and I will be supporting him in any way I can to find a new club.

“Ethan, meanwhile, came in at a time when we had a shortage of strikers and has excelled – and more – for us. His work ethic has been truly remarkable and, like Connor, we thank Ethan for all his efforts, in addition to the character and desire he’s shown for us in spades.

“I know how much Ethan has enjoyed it at our football club and we are all sad to see him leave.

“He will always be remembered for scoring that vital goal in the FA cup against Rochdale to spark a brilliant cup upset and the scenes in the stadium that followed were simply magnificent.”
