THE second Worcester Derby of the season has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Claines Lane.

Worcester City and Worcester Raiders were set to face off in the Hellenic League Premier for just the second time ever in a competitive fixture, but the pitch is waterlogged and has failed an inspection.

It is the fourth game in December to be postponed at Claines, with the pitch struggling to deal with the rain.

Volunteers had been at Claines since 8am on Boxing Day to try and get the game on, but in the end, 50% of the pitch was unplayable and there was no chance of football going ahead.

There are still two local derbies on in the area, with Stourport Swifts taking on Bewdley Town at Walshes Meadow at 1pm and Malvern Town hosting Evesham United at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium at 3pm.

Both Stourport and Malvern are offering City and Raiders fans reduced-priced ticket offers for their matches on the gate.

You can watch the Swifts game for £5 or Malvern for £6 if you show your Worcester Derby ticket.
