KYLE Belmonte has joined fellow Worcester City forward Liam Lockett on 21 goals in the race for the Golden Boot in the Hellenic League Premier.
Belmonte scored for a third game running in Wednesday night's 4-2 win at Roman Glass St George and has now gone top of the scoring charts by virtue of playing less games than Lockett.
The two look set to compete for the accolade in what they hope is a title-winning season for City, who also have Jamie Insall in the running for top scorer with 15 goals.
Pershore Town's Josh Willis is also in the top five with 16 goals, alongside Fairford Town's Jamal Lawrence (18) - who scored two versus City in the recent 3-3 draw - and Mangotsfield United's Jaydn Crosbie (17), who will face City on Saturday afternoon.
There is one more player in the top 10 for City and that is Dylan Hart, who is enjoying a great run of form at the moment. He has scored in each of City's last five matches in all competitions and if he can replicate that form into 2024, then who knows, it could even end up being a City 1,2,3.
