WORCESTERSHIRE all-rounder Joe Leach has signed a contract extension till the end of the 2025 season.

Leach, 33, has just entered his testimonial year with the Pears and has marked that achievement with another year at New Road.

The Stafford-born, former Worcestershire captain was out of contract at the end of the upcoming season but will now enjoy another year with the county. By the end of 2025, Leach will have spent 13 years with the Pears.

A mainstay of Worcestershire’s attack for several seasons, Leach is eagerly anticipating the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, none more so than a first season back in Division One of the County Championship.

Having surpassed the 450-wicket mark in first-class cricket last summer, Leach’s dedication and skill are undeniable and now he is looking forward to making even more memories.

"It’s fantastic news to sign the new deal alongside what’s going to be an exciting year with the testimonial," he said.

"It’s a new era at the club, and to have the opportunity to contribute for at least the next couple of years is really exciting.

"I’ve still got goals to achieve, and this club means a lot to me. It’s pretty obvious I’m now going to be a one-club man."

Worcestershire Head Coach Alan Richardson couldn’t hide his admiration for Leach, stating; "It’s fantastic that Joe will be with us for at least two more years. What a tremendous career he has had and what a superb performer for more than ten years for Worcestershire who fully deserves this year’s testimonial."

Richardson also highlighted Leach’s impressive transformation from a batsman to a bowling mainstay, calling him a "team man first and foremost, prepared to put in a massive shift for the team."
