WORCESTER boxer Owen Cooper will fight for both the English and European WBO titles at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham tomorrow night in front of the BT Sport cameras.

Cooper, 22, will take on defending WBO European Welterweight champion Eithan James as part of the 'Magnificent 7' card.

The Worcester Amateur Boxing Club product - who fights under promoter Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions - currently boasts an unbeaten professional record of 9(3)-0-0.

It promises to be a brilliant night of boxing and those in Cooper's camp will be hoping he can maintain his winning run against the similarly unbeaten James (12-0).

He will be well backed by his large fan base, who won't have to travel far to, they hope, see him become the new WBO European and English champion.

"This is the biggest fight of my career," said Cooper on Facebook. "Against another undefeated opponent for the English and European WBO championships.

"I am leaving no stone unturned and you will get the best version of Owen Cooper on the night.

"The support since turning professional has been amazing but really need all of Worcester to get behind me for this one."

Elsewhere on the card, British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney against English champion Brad Pauls and heavyweight Joe Joyce's return to the ring.

Liam Davies, the British, WBC International and European champion, will challenge for the IBO world super bantamweight championship when he takes on the holder Erik Robles Ayala from Mexico.

Also at super bantamweight, Commonwealth champion Dennis McCann faces the also undefeated WBO European champion Brad Strand with the vacant WBO Intercontinental title on the line.

Former WBO International super middleweight champion Zach Parker will take on the former WBA world champion Tyron Zeuge.
