HEREFORD FC bounced back from defeat last weekend to put four past Farsley Celtic and get their play-off push back on track.

Tope Obedayi gave the Bulls an early lead from the penalty spot before Alex Babos and Kieran Phillips added a second and third in quick succession.

Jid Okeke put the game out of sight just before half-time with Ryan Watson scoring a consolation for Farsley in added time.

New signing Dominic McHale had an instant impact for Hereford when he was brought down inside the box, allowing Obedayi to step up and convert from the spot for a ninth minute lead.

Farsley looked to respond immediately with player-manager Calyton Donaldson being played through on goal but a heavy touch allowed Curtis Pond to come and claim the ball.

Paul Caddis’ side doubled their lead in the 19th minute when Lewis Hudson’s cutback from the byline found Babos in the six-yard box who tapped in to extend the Bulls advantage.

Phillips put Hereford in a commanding position four minutes later when Obadeyi found the striker inside the box who slotted the ball into the back of the net for a 3-0 lead.

The game was all but sealed in first half stoppage time when Okeke showed quick feet and composure on the edge of the area to find the bottom corner of the goal for the host’s fourth.

McHale continued his fine debut in the second half when he evaded several challenges on the hour mark before finding Phillips but the forward was unable to keep his shot down.

The visitors were close to getting on the score-sheet soon after when Ben Aitkinson connected well with his long range effort but Pond was able to watch the ball into his gloves.

Hereford nearly extended their lead in the 80th minute when Jason Cowley pulled the ball back for Aaron Skinner on the edge of the box who rifled his effort just past the post.

Farsley pulled a goal back in the second minute of stoppage when Watson’s fierce strike from 25 yards out took a slight deflection on its way into the back of the net, but it was a mere consolation.
