IN a quirk of the fixture computer, Worcester Warriors have been drawn against the exact same opponents as last year in pool ‘C’ of the EDF Energy Cup.
For the second season running, Warriors will do battle with the Ospreys, who went on to win the trophy last term, Harlequins and London Irish.
This time around, though, the Sixways side will have home advantage twice as opposed to just once last season. Worcester will host Quins and the Exiles and face a trip to Swansea’s Liberty Stadium to take on the Ospreys, who triumphed 23-6 over Leicester Tigers at Twickenham in April to become the first Welsh side to lift the trophy.
Round one, weekend of October 4: Worcester Warriors v London Irish.
Round two, Weekend of October 25: Ospreys v Worcester Warriors.
Round three, weekend of November 1: Worcester Warriors v Harlequins.
Semi-finals: Weekend of March 28, 2009.
Final: Weekend of April 18, 2009 - Twickenham.
