STEVE Price won Worcester St John’s Cycling Club’s open 10-mile time trial to lift the Charlie Greig cup.
St John’s 13 other cyclists helped them win the team prize as well in the competition at Severn Stoke which was organised by Martin Staines.
Price clocked 21 minutes 26 seconds, while Evesham Wheelers’ 15-year-old Tom Stockdale won the junior event in a fine 22.11. Dan Staines, Joe Page, Terry Chance and Holly Page were third, fourth, fifth and eighth respectively.
Various helpers, marshals and timekeepers ensured the event ran smoothly, while Echelon’s Tim Wood provided prizes and vouchers.
Echelon-SPIUK’s Alan Colburn took the veteran’s standard prize and Simon Osborne was ninth overall.

Meanwhile, Pershore-based Echelon-SPIUK enjoyed a successful week in various disciplines.
Steve Dring completed a winning double in road races over four days.
His first victory came in the Wool evening handicap road race where he won the bunch sprint.
Dring’s second win was in Ottershaw, Surrey, where he took a convincing win in the sprint for the line.
Dave Dickerson tied for first in the Abergavenny 10-mile time trial veteran event on the Raglan course where he clocked 20.57.
Arja Scarsbrook rode the UK Masters Track Championships at Newport and was first in the 500-metres time trial for her age group in 45.627 seconds.
Adrian Bird had to settle for third in the Winchcombe evening handicap road race.
