STOKE Prior Sports beat Crowle by 55 runs in Worcester Evening Cricket League Division One thanks to a quick-fire 61 from J Birch.
The batsman’s knock included three sixes and six fours and he was aided by A Van Vurren (54) and J Clarke (24) to help Sports post 173-4. For Crowle, A Haines claimed 3-26.
G Stevens (27) and LD Alley (20) impressed with the bat in Crowle’s reply of 118-7, as K Van Vurren took 3-13 for Stoke Prior.
Worcester’s R Franklin hit three sixes and five fours in his 51 and he was well-supported by D Cook (30) as the city side posted 107-6 at Regency Road.
Malvern’s Rob Francis (4-23) starred with the ball as Worcester were restricted.
In reply Malvern piled up 108-3 off 10 overs to win by seven wickets.
H Dimond (40no) top-scored, while J Kirkly added 23no and J Poole 23.
In Division Two, Ian McLaren smashed an unbeaten 83 before taking 4-19 in City Police’s 45-run victory over Worcester Academicals at Ombersley.
Neil Fletcher (23) and S Wood (38) also contributed to the Police’s total of 167-4.
Academicals managed 122-5 in reply thanks to R Hawking (30no) and G Davies (28).
MCT XI collapsed to 75-9 in their rain-shortened game at Rushwick as D Hughes took 4-3 runs off two overs.
P Bibby (24) and M Perkins (35no) helped Rushwick to an eight-wicket victory in seven overs.
DIVISION ONE Malvern (12) v Worcester (0) Malvern won by seven wickets.
